BURLINGTON, VT – The Burlington Democratics ran a successful city-wide food drive on Saturday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, providing much-needed food for the North End Food Pantry to distribute. There were eight drop-off locations around the city including The Bagel Cafe at the Ethan Allen Shopping Center and Zero Gravity on Pine Street. All Democratic City Councilors—including President Ben Traverse, Sarah Carpenter, Becca Brown McKnight, Evan Litwin, Allie Schachter, and Ranjit "Buddy" Singh— participated. Many councilors had their homes as drop-off sites, to make it as convenient as possible for neighbors to donate. Council President Ben Traverse shared, "To be a resilient community in the face of these troubling times, we need to stand up to help our neighbors in need" The drive collected 670 pounds of food and diapers, along with a hundred dollars gift card.

The North End Food Pantry, an all-volunteer nonprofit, provides free food and diapers with no eligibility requirements every weekend. For those who missed the drive, but wish to contribute, The NEF Pantry’s accepts donations on Saturdays 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at 1416 North Avenue (Odd Fellows Lodge)

City Councilor Sarah Carpenter hosted a drop-off donation site at her home.
